作為卓越美食領(lǐng)域的全新獎項，世界餐廳獎主要是表彰餐廳領(lǐng)域的卓越、誠信、多樣性和豐富文化，而不是單單贊揚耀眼成就。該獎項由IMG（美國國際管理集團）與餐廳領(lǐng)域的新聞記者喬-沃里克(Joe Warwick)以及美食作家和現(xiàn)場評論員安德烈-彼得里尼(Andrea Petrini)聯(lián)手打造。
世界餐廳獎評委會在性別方面“五五開”，由餐飲界的眾多知名人物組成，包括一系列最具知名度的大廚和廚藝新星、美食作家與專業(yè)人士。加入評委會的大廚包括艾蕾娜-阿爾扎克(Elena Arzak)、亞歷克斯-阿塔拉(Alex Atala)、馬西莫-博圖拉(Massimo Bottura)、David Chang、伊蓮娜-達(dá)羅茲(Helene Darroze)、丹尼爾-赫姆(Daniel Humm)、丹-巴伯爾(Dan Barber)、里恩-雷哲皮(Rene Redzepi)、安娜-羅斯(Ana Ro?)、尤塔姆-奧托倫吉(Yotam Ottolenghi)和克萊爾-史密斯(Clare Smyth)等名廚。
在薩凱帕朗姆酒于巴黎Malro餐廳舉行的歡迎宴會上，客人們品嘗精致的薩凱帕古典雞尾酒和出自于Malro主廚丹尼-因布羅伊西(Denny Imbroisi)之手的小盤佳肴。
薩凱帕首席調(diào)酒師洛雷娜-巴斯克斯(Lorena Vasquez)表示：“我們很高興在首屆世界餐廳獎頒獎禮舉行之前，在這里歡迎業(yè)內(nèi)精英。”
